Annubar Flow Meter Introduction

Annubar flowmeter is a new type of differential pressure flow detection element developed based on the principle of pitot tube speed measurement. It outputs a differential pressure signal and is matched with instruments and meters for measuring differential pressure. It can accurately measure the flow of various liquids, gases and steam (superheated steam and saturated steam) in circular pipes and rectangular pipes, and gradually replace orifice plates and others with its advantages of high accuracy, small pressure loss, and convenient installation. Detection components are widely used in power industry (including nuclear industry), chemical industry, petroleum and metal smelting and other industries.

Annubar Flow Meter Feature

  • High accuracy and good stability

The accuracy of the Annubar flowmeter is ±1% and the stability is ±0.1%. It can maintain a long-term output of a very stable differential pressure signal and ensure the mapping relationship between the output differential pressure signal and the pipeline flow rate. This is because the factors such as wear, corrosion, and adhesion of oily dust during use have little effect on the coefficient of the Annubar flowmeter, but these factors increase the flow coefficient of the orifice plate, and it will increase to more than 20%. The resulting error will also reach more than 20%. From this, we can see that the accuracy of Annubar is stable for a long time.

  • Reasonable design, convenient and economical installation

The Annubar flowmeter is light in weight, easy to install and disassemble, and no lifting tools are needed. Some of the product series can be installed or disassembled without stopping the pipeline under test. Due to the light weight of the Annubar, the installation It is easy to disassemble, so this aspect can save you considerable installation costs. For example: when installing a flowmeter on a pipe with a diameter of 200mm, Annubar has only one weld with a length of 150mm, while the orifice plate has two welds with a total length of 1200mm. In terms of working hours, it takes only 1.5 working hours to install an Annubar flowmeter, but 12 working hours to install an orifice plate.

  • Conducive to pipeline layout

Annubar is not only suitable for round pipes, but also for rectangular pipes and pipes buried at any depth below the ground. The length of the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections of Annubar is much lower than that of the orifice plate. When installed at a distance of 2 times the pipe diameter behind the elbow, stable and high accuracy can still be obtained. This is the unique advantage of Annubar. , Which brings great flexibility to the layout design of pipelines, especially large-diameter pipelines, and saves costs

  • Low pressure loss and less energy loss

Permanent pressure loss is power loss. The permanent pressure loss of Annubar only accounts for 2-15% of the differential pressure, while the permanent loss of a general orifice flowmeter accounts for 40-80% of the differential pressure. The permanent pressure loss is much smaller than the pressure loss of the orifice plate. As the pipe diameter increases, the permanent pressure loss of the Annubar flowmeter is negligible.

Annubar Flow Meter Application

The output of Annubar flowmeter is a differential pressure signal, which can be used with instruments and meters for measuring differential pressure to accurately measure a variety of liquids, gases and vapors (superheated steam and saturated steam) in circular pipes and rectangular pipes. The size of the tested pipe ranges from φ20mm to 3000mm. Annubar is successfully used in the power industry (including nuclear industry), chemical industry, petrochemical industry and metal smelting industry. It is suitable for:

  • Gas transportation and liquid transportation

  • Energy research, steam boiler thermal efficiency, water pump efficiency, gas compressor efficiency and fuel consumption;

  • Process control: input and output, ratio/balance; cooling water or air; steam heating

  • Adding materials in the chemical industry

  • Load balancing: pumps, compressors, coolers, filters
