Bulletin 1756 and 1757 ControlLogix redundancy modules support fully redundant controller architectures without additional programming. Programs are automatically cross-loaded from the master to the slave, and the master automatically updates the slave with data changes to keep the controllers in sync. In the event of a failure of the master controller, control automatically switches to the slave controller, thus guaranteeing the execution of the functions of the highest priority, i.e. a "shockless transfer". Controller redundancy is transparent to any device connected via an EtherNet/IP or ControlNet network. For applications that must run in a J-side environment, select the ControlLogix J-side environment redundancy module.
ControlLogix™ communication modules support EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, Serial, DH-485, and SynchLink networks. You can interface through a ControlLogix gateway (no controller in the gateway chassis) using ControlLogix communication modules, or interface directly to a ControlLogix controller.
